Jimmy John’s opening their first ever Canadian store in Toronto

American sandwich chain Jimmy John’s has announced they’ll be opening their first ever store in Canada in Toronto.
The chain has been around for over 40 years, originally founded in Charleston, Illinois in 1983. They’re known as the number one sandwich brand in the United States, and they have a reputation for their fast prep time of just 30 to 45 seconds per sandwich.
Now, they’ve chosen Toronto for their first Canadian store.
Sandwich options from Jimmy John’s include the Beach Club with turkey, avocado spread, mayo, provolone, lettuce, tomato and cucumber, and the Chicken Bacon Ranch with shredded chicken, bacon, ranch, arugula and cheddar. They also do wraps, and make their own signature Jimmy Chips and jumbo kosher dill Jimmy Pickles.
Jimmy John’s is celebrating their entry into Canada with a contest where you can win a free weekly sandwich for a year. Anyone with a J in their name who lives in the GTA can win one of 150 Jimmy John’s Canada $25 gift cards or a grand prize of a free six-inch classic sandwich combo a week for a year, valued at $1,000.
The opening of Jimmy John’s in Canada will come on the heels of rival sub chain Jersey Mike’s recently opening locations in Canada in Ontario.
Jimmy John’s will be opening their first Canadian location in the fall at 197 North Queen St. in Etobicoke in Toronto.
