Krispy Kreme is opening a brand new doughnut factory, and it’s going to be in a Toronto neighbourhood.

The doughnut chain is known for its fluffy, sugary glazed donuts that are picture perfect and served in huge rectangular boxes. They often do specials selling their doughnuts for low prices, and sometimes even give them away for free. Krispy Kreme has multiple locations across Toronto including one in Scarborough, and also operates a location in Mississauga.

The chain has been around for over 80 years but only opened their first Canadian store in Mississauga in 2001. They opened their first downtown Toronto doughnut cafe in 2010.

Now, Krispy Kreme has posted to social media this week saying they are about to open the doors to a new doughnut factory in Toronto.

The post says they’ll be giving away prizes on the morning of the factory’s opening including 12 “golden tickets” that are redeemable for a dozen free doughnuts every month for a year. Over 300 people have liked the post.

Krispy Kreme’s new doughnut factory will be located at 2458 Lake Shore Blvd. W. in Etobicoke.

The grand opening for the new factory is Aug. 27.
