The chefs that are the forces behind Michelin-level Italian restaurants in Toronto are opening a new steakhouse-style restaurant.

Sammarco describes itself as a “specialisti della carne” and will be helmed by chefs Rob Rossi and David Minicucci, who are also behind Giulietta and Osteria Giulia. Both restaurants are recommended by the Michelin Guide, with Giulia receiving a prestigious star for high quality cooking.

This restaurant looks as though it will be equally impressive.

A new Instagram account that just popped up this week shows an array of stunning seafood like fish and shrimp, massive salt-crusted steaks, bold cocktails and fine wine. The Sammarco website says that “Private dining experiences will be offered in The Carlevale Room.”

Hoarding is currently up outside the future site of Sammarco reading, “This marquee project is the team’s interpretation of the classic Italian steakhouse, featuring seafood, prime cuts and the duo’s first and only private dining room.”

The concept will be brought to life with the help of II By IV Design with branding and art direction by Concrete Design Studio.

Sammarco at 4 Front St. E. should be opening fall 2024.
