Foodies looking to dabble in fine cuisine—some even prepared by celebrity chefs—might want to check out this event happening in Niagara Falls next month.
The Flavours of Niagara Falls festival aims to showcase local products, incorporating them into the featured dishes.
The event will also include Celebrity Guest Chefs, exclusive dinners, and prix fixe menus at over 20 local restaurants.
On Jan. 13, the month-long food celebration begins with the “Cool as Ice” gala, sponsored by Niagara Falls Tourism in collaboration with the Niagara Icewine Festival, where guests are invited to enjoy the region’s distinct flavours.
Montreal-based Chef Chuck Hughes, owner of Garde Manger and a familiar face on cooking and food-related TV shows, will kick off the Guest Chef series along with other culinary leaders on Jan. 26, at the Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery.
Chef Hughes menu offerings for this experience include oysters, scallops, duck, and agnolotti—an egg pasta filled with potatoes, ham hock (pork knuckle), and cheese.
For those curious about which other celebrity chefs will be making an appearance, will have to remain patient as the full list isn’t out yet and will be announced in the weeks to come.
Well-known establishments like Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen, Massimos Italian Fallsview Restaurant, Four Brothers Cucina, Ponte Vecchio, Doc Magilligan’s, and Watermark will offer prix fixe menus priced at $59, $79, and $99.
These curated menus will include dishes that will pair well with Niagara’s icewine in January and sparkling wine in February.
Patrons interested in the guest chef dining experience are asked to book early as there are limited spots available.
