A restaurant that has grown successful in other parts of Ontario and is slowly spreading to new locations is about to arrive in Burlington.

Greek Market Chicken is scheduled to open soon at 581 Brant St. and with that will come flavours influenced by distinct regions of Greece.

“Our BBQ flame-grilled concept takes you right back with our tasty zesty lemon sauce, fresh gyros, and other tasty offerings,” the operators on the company’s website.

Originally based in the Oak Ridges area of Richmond Hill, Greek Market Chicken is the sister restaurant concept born from the original Greek Market Cafe and is expanding quickly into other markets with the promise to keep their food fresh, fast and simple.

“We are a contemporary take on Greek eats sourcing only premium ingredients,” the information on the website continues. “Inspired from Spilia, Argos, Greece, we butcher and season all meats in-house daily to ensure freshness and unmatched superior flavour. Our mission is to serve fresh Greek food with clean ingredients authentically but with a modern twist.”

Some of the specialties include the gyro, souvlaki, vegetarian and loukano (sausage) pitas as well as full dinner menu items with the same ingredients as the pitas.

As well, you can get full and half-size chicken along with sides of feta, hummus and various salads. The Greek poutine is another specialty that features round-cut fries, Greek feta and zesty lemon sauce.

Catering will also be available for large events.

Operators of Greek Market Chicken have been busily preparing the Burlington and promise that it will open soon.
