Mississauga is getting a brand new grocery store in a bustling area.

Food Basics is opening a new location ​​near Confederation Parkway and Arbutus Way, just north of Burnhamthorpe Road West.

A spokesperson for Metro, which owns Food Basics, confirmed to INsauga.com that a new Food Basics will be opening at the location.

The M City condos, which are located just south of Burnhamthorpe, are just one of many condo developments popping up in the area during recent years.

There are nearly 150 Food Basics stores throughout Ontario and this new spot will mark the seventh one in Mississauga. The new location will create around 85 jobs.

Construction has begun on the new Food Basics, which is slated to open in spring 2025.
