Canada’s 100 Best has just come out with their new list of the country’s greatest restaurants, and while it’s dominated by places in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver as expected, some Ontario spots outside the province’s biggest city also made the cut.

There are 10 Ontario restaurants outside Toronto on the list in total, with Ottawa getting a decent amount of shine, but some smaller communities are also represented. Not only that, they land quite near to the top of the list.

Cambridge’s Langdon Hall and Jordan Station’s Pearl Morissette have snagged the number five and six spot on the list, showcasing what spots outside the big city can do. Langdon Hall is a hotel that’s known not only for its “5-Diamond” dining but also their award-winning spa, and Pearl Morissette is the restaurant component of a stunning winery that also encompasses a farm and bakery.

Oakville’s Hexagon restaurant placed at number 26. The contemporary restaurant serves tasting menus that include dishes like King Cole duck and oysters with mandarin kosho. Creemore’s breathtaking restaurant The Pine took the number 40 spot with their immersive tasting menus. Oddbird in St. Catharines also made it onto the list at number 85.

The Ottawa restaurants that made the list are Riviera at 28, Atelier at 43, Arlo at 71, Supply and Demand at 75, North & Navy at number 95 and Buvette Daphnee at number 97.
