The season hasn’t even started yet for the Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights and already it’s won a major award.
The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario has named the Winter Festival of Lights as the Tourism Event of the Year for 2023 at their Gala Awards Reception towards the end of the 2023 Ontario Travel Summit on Oct. 25.
“Niagara Falls Tourism is delighted to be recognized by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario. It is a testament to our fantastic partners, employees, and volunteers’ efforts to put on such a magical and memorable event every single year. This recognition reinforces their hard work and dedication.” Says Janice Thomson, President & CEO of Niagara Falls Tourism.
“We are excited about what is to come this year as the festival continues to grow and delight all those that visit.”
Opening on Nov. 18 for the 2023-24 season, the Winter Festival of Lights, now in its 41st year, will delight guests with new interactive displays throughout the festival route.
Among this year’s events are a special sparkling Falls illumination, pictures with Santa compliments of Ontario Power Generation, meet the Misty Kids topped off with 51 nights of twinkling lights and 26 nights of spectacular fireworks.
Over three million lights are set to illuminate various areas around Niagara Falls with a focus on the Niagara Parkway.
