An Ontario location is one of Airbnb’s most wishlisted locations in Canada, just in time for summer.
The list, released yesterday, details several Canadian properties, all featuring unique traits as to why they may be the perfect place to cash in some vacation days in the coming warmer months.
Hidden in this list of ideal real estate is the riverfront cottage of Chalet Noire in Severn, ON — one of Canada’s most sought-after travel destinations.
The Ontario locale — which is in the top 5 per cent of destinations in Canada — features a cozy interior, is anchored on Sparrow Lake, and is within a short drive from several idyllic towns in Ontario’s lake country, including Orillia and Bracebridge.
“Staying at Chalet Noir was an unforgettable experience. The scenery surrounding the house is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views that greet you every morning and make it hard to leave,” read one Airbnb review by Stephanie of Toronto, ON.
Beyond the amenities, which include two bedrooms, waterfront access, and a fully landscaped outdoor area, Chalet Noire also offers guests a rare experience in the world of vacation homes — true privacy.
According to Airbnb, unlike other lakefront properties in the area, Chalet Noire has no neighbouring cottages.
“We spent the majority of our time on the dock, kayaking, fishing, and really loved the comfortable Muskoka chairs and beautiful ambiance of the backyard lighting at night,” read another review by a user named Christina.
Concerning the sudden interest in Canadian locales, Airbnb has relayed that in 2025 alone, interest in domestic locations has shot up by a 20 per cent margin.
