Ontarians who are eager to celebrate the LGBTQ community all year round will be happy to hear that the province’s biggest winter Pride festival is slated to take place at Blue Mountain this month.

Recently, the Blue Mountain Village Association announced that the popular ski village, located right outside of Collingwood, will host a multi-day Pride celebration that will run from Feb. 28 until March 2.

A news release says the resort’s 8th annual festival will include events and entertainment for both families and adults, with scavenger hunts, live music, DJ sets and a 19+ drag show slated to run over the weekend. As far as family-friendly events go, the association says the festival will kick off with opening ceremonies and a flag raising and include DJs, groove dancing with Tyler Boyle, live music with DC James, singer-songwriter Holly Clausius’s ‘Y2GAY’ concert and more.

There will also be a 19+ silent disco at Copper Blues on Friday, Feb. 28.

Visitors over 19 can check out the ticketed Big Show: Apres Ski Kiki on Saturday, March 1, at the Village Conference Centre.

The show will feature Sasha Colby from RuPaul’s Drag Race, as well as Canada’s Drag Race alumni Aurora Matrix, The Virgo Queen, Helena Poison and Jada Shada Hudson.

Throughout the weekend, visitors can purchase the winter Play All Day Pass, which includes access to the Hike ‘n Tube, Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster, mountaintop skating, Plunge Aqua Centre, snowshoeing, and the Canopy Net Climb.
