While some spa enthusiasts might have been disappointed to see the summer pass without a highly anticipated spa opening its doors in Prince Edward County, potential customers won’t have to wait much longer.

The 10,000-square-foot Nordic spa, the first of its kind in Ontario, is scheduled to open officially on Jan. 18, 2025.

Wander the Spa, operated by Wander the Resort, is a boutique spa experience in a remote setting. Located just a little back from the water’s edge of West Lake in the PEC town of Bloomfield, the spa’s design balances contemporary and natural elements. It’s set below ground level among pines and tall grasses for privacy, and the all-season facilities have heated outdoor floors.

The spa encompasses a hydrotherapy circuit, four pools, two saunas, a steam room, massage treatments, a beach, communal fires and an “exfoliation cabin.”

The spa also boasts an on-site restaurant called Gather.

While Nordic spas are not uncommon in Ontario (there’s Vettä Nordic Spa in Oro-Medonte and the Thermëa spa village in Whitby), operators say Wander will be the province’s first lakefront Nordic spa.

“Immerse yourself in the restorative benefits of thermotherapy, coursing through a cycle of sauna, steam, pools and cold plunges in the Thermal Escape,” the website reads.

“With relaxing body treatments, invigorating sauna rituals and nourishing meals to elevate your experience, Wander The Spa welcomes you to leave behind the noise of the everyday and cultivate a deeper connection to self. Your journey inward is about to begin.”

For a limited time, exclusive preview offers start at $65 for a day pass. A 10-visit pass is currently $595, and an unlimited access Founders Pass is $3900. The Founders Pass gets you first access to the spa, free gear like a robe and body care, a complimentary spa guest pass, priority dinner reservations and discounts on accommodations, treatments, classes and the spa menu.

At Wander the Resort, you can book cabins to stay in, eat meals from brunch to dinner at a restaurant, and chill at their beach club. However, you won’t need to book a cabin to use the spa, which will be open to the public.

Wander the Spa will open at 15841 Loyalist Pkwy.
