Panera Bread has been a popular American chain for sandwiches, soups and salads for years, and they have several locations in Ontario.
Now, the chain is opening a downtown Toronto location for the first time ever.
The restaurant serves hot sandwiches like a grilled cheese and ciabatta cheesesteak and cold sandwiches like tuna salad and turkey cheddar.
They’re also known for their soups such as broccoli cheddar and chicken noodle, as well as their mac n’ cheese and a wide range of salads. Panera is especially known for the ability to order lots of soups, chili and mac n’ cheese in their signature bread bowls.
As the name suggests, Panera Bread also makes a variety of breads, and they also serve baked goods including bagels, cookies, muffins, brownies and scones. They serve breakfast in the mornings, too.

Panera already has Ontario locations in Oakville, Mississauga, Markham, Whitby, Ottawa, Oshawa, Kingston, Belleville and Barrie. Most of them are drive-thru locations.
The new Panera Bread location in downtown Toronto will be located on College Street.
Panera tells YourCityWithIN.com that the new location at 253 College St. should be opening around May or June.
