The same people behind a Thai restaurant that’s become a popular fixture in a Toronto neighbourhood are now opening a totally new spot.
Thong Lor is the sibling restaurant to Si Lom, which has been open on Church for year now serving classic Thai dishes and huge cocktail buckets.

The new restaurant Thong Lor will also serve Thai food but with a special emphasis on grilled dishes. They’re focusing on Thai-style BBQ, offering a range of meat skewers.
They’re also serving a lump crab meat nugget called hoy jor wrapped in tofu skin with plum mayo on the side, and a signature dish of laab-inspired spicy baby back ribs. Other dishes include crispy pork dish kao moo krob, and pang na moo or Thai pork toast.

The interior space is cozy and calm with a brick fireplace plus retro touches like records, Thai posters and cassette tapes on the walls. The outdoor sign is also fashioned to look like a movie marquee.
Thong Lor has soft opened at 555 Church St., and should officially open on Oct. 18 at 5:30 p.m.
