A team that includes a top Toronto barbecue chef and has been putting on successful pop-ups is now opening their very own physical restaurant.
Golden Horseshoe Barbecue is operated by pitmaster Andrew Golden who’s only in his 20s, but has already been working at barbecue spots for years in Toronto and for six months in Texas. The project pops up at venues around the city, mostly breweries.

“Nothing quenched my thirst for the real deal,” Golden tells YourCityWithIN.com. “There is nothing at all like that, up here.”
Golden Horseshoe is poised to take over a massive space, completely renovating the gutted spot, as is shown in a social media post.

The restaurant will serve barbecue meats by the pound like brisket, pork ribs, beef ribs, chicken, pork steak and burnt ends, along with plates incorporating their barbecue meats and fire cooking. Uniquely, everything will be cooked using a wood fire smoker, with no gas or electric.
The concept will be taking up residence in a large corner space at 657 Dupont that’s long been waiting for an exciting new tenant.
Golden Horseshoe Barbecue hopes to open around early May.
