The three-day fun-filled homage to fan culture that is Toronto Comicon returns this weekend, a spectacular comics, sci-fi, horror, anime and gaming event that annually attracts thousands of people to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Everyone is a fan of something, and Toronto Comicon is a place to celebrate all things pop culture. Autograph and photo opportunities with celebrities are available and patrons can also get the inside scoop about their favourite movies and TV shows at celebrity panels, watch professional comic artists battle it out in Sketch Duels and learn how to make cosplay outfits and armour at ‘How To’ workshops.
Presented by Fan Expo, the world’s largest comic con producer, the show is also the ultimate pop culture shopping experience on the massive convention centre show floor.
Celebrity guests this year include Tom Cavanagh (The Flash), Denis Lawson (Star Wars), Mary McDonnell (Dances With Wolves, Independence Day, ER and Battlestar Galactica) and Ethan Peck and Anson Mount (Star Trek – Strange New Worlds).
There will also be guests from all facets of pop culture – including plenty of comic book talent on Artist Alley – and cosplayers of every description.
Toronto Comicon begins Friday, with show hours 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 am. To 5 p.m. Sunday.
