If you missed illumi, which attracted more than 400,000 visitors between its launch in late 2022 and closure in early 2024, note that you can celebrate the upcoming “spooky season” at the acclaimed light festival.

Today, Cavalia, the Canadian entertainment company behind illumi—A Dazzling World of Lights, announced that Spooky at illumi will return to Mississauga for the third time on Oct. 3. According to organizers, the Halloween portion of the light festival attracted more than 100,000 last year

A news release says Spooky at illumi will feature autumn and Halloween-themed scenes set to songs from an array of classic horror films, as well as “playful” black lights and lasers, whimiscal jack-o-lanterns, scarlet spiders, neon skeletons, witches, monsters and more.

Located at 7174 Derrycrest Dr., the event space spans 600,000 square feet (the equivalent of 10 football fields) and boasts 20 million LED lights, as well as the world’s largest tree of lights (which is 47-metres high and as tall as the Statue of Liberty).

The experience will also feature two new worlds, including the brand new Puppies and Kitties universe, which is dedicated to the “unconditional love individuals have for cats and dogs.”

Spooky at illumi has become a much-anticipated annual Halloween tradition for many friends and families across the GTA, be it for date night, family night, and even for team bonding among coworkers,” said Normand Latourelle, founder and creator of illumi, in a statement.

“This year, our creative team will be adding two new universes, for a total of 16 amazing worlds in this breathtaking outdoor journey, all designed to deliver spectacular multisensory experiences that fans won’t soon forget.”

Spooky at illumi will also host a “Doggie Night” on Oct. 16, which will allow guests to bring their costumed fur babies to the eerie celebration.

Halloween at illumi will run from Thursday, Oct. 3 to early November. After that, the attraction will pivot to celebrating the holiday season until Jan. 13, 2025.

Free parking is available on-site and illumi is considered suitable for guests of all ages. The site is also wheelchair accessible.

Ticket prices, including the Advance Purchase Promotion of up to 30 per cent, starts at $17 for kids and $24 for general admission. Children two years old and younger can enter free of charge.
