Popular ice cream shop set to open in Square One in Mississauga

A new venture connected to a long-standing dessert hotspot is moving west and opening a new store in Square One in Mississauga.
Shoppers who frequent the city’s biggest shopping centre have recently noticed bright signage suggesting that Scooped By Demetres, which has four shops in Toronto, will open soon.
The shop has a 35-year history in the city and claims to make “the best ice cream in Toronto.” While Scooped locations are popping up more frequently, most diners are familiar with Demetres, a sit-down ice cream and dessert cafe that’s been popular in Toronto and the GTA for over three decades.
Demetres currently operates a few local hotspots, including one in the Courtneypark plaza.
As far as desserts go, Scooped offers a few unique treats. The Cajeta Swirled Goat Cheese combines goat cheese swirled with cajeta (dulce de leche made from goat’s milk). There’s also a Cinnamon Roll For The Soul, a Cherry Rose Cheesecake, the Lavish Chocolate Cherry and the Office Coffee.
The shop also offers a line of vegan sorbettos.
The new location is on the second level beside Wireless+ in the former Laura Secord shop, which closed in April 2023.
The opening date has not been announced.
