A cantina known for its tacos, margaritas and late-night service has moved east across the country and opened a brand new outpost in Toronto.
This week, Blanco Cantina, a western Canada-born restaurant chain, announced that it officially opened its first Ontario location on Bloor Street in The Annex.
“Blanco Cantina is already a favourite spot for many Canadians seeking fresh Mexican cuisine, and we’re looking forward to making it a household name in Toronto,” Jay MacRaild, brand leader at Blanco Cantina, said in a statement.
“Torontonians will get to experience the dynamic atmosphere fueled by the happiest happy hour in town that sets Blanco apart from other cantinas.”
According to a news release, the brand’s newest hotspot–described as as a “lively-hole-in-the-wall,” opens at 2 p.m. every day and stays open “until late.” The resto offers two happy hour deals a day, including $7 margaritas and $3 tacos.
As far as food goes, Blanco’s menu features traditional Mexican street food, including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, fajitas and more. The restaurant’s “munchies” menu includes house-fried tortilla chips with salsa, queso, guacamole made tableside and chili popcorn shrimp or “dirty fries” loaded with all the fixings.
As for drinks, Blanco Cantina offers a selection of cerveza, tequila and mezcal alongside a variety of flavoured margaritas.
On “Taco Tuesdaze,” diners can order half-price classic tacos and get $5 off premium tacos.
The restaurant officially opened on Jan. 13.
