Wine and Canadian throwback bands will be a big part of the summer festivities in Ontario’s bustling Niagara region.
Sam Roberts, Chantal Kreviazuk, Bruce Cockburn, The Trews, and Matthew Good will be playing a concert series at one of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s best-known wineries this summer. So, if you’re ready to look back on some fond music memories from the 2000s, you might want to check this one out.
Those bands will also be joining some slightly newer ones like Bahamas, Dwayne Gretzky and July Talk at the Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate Amphitheatre for the concert series. Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate manager Craig Swanson calls the series “an exceptional concert-going experience that you can’t find anywhere else.”
The concerts will take place most weekends at the 500-seat open-air venue and will kick off June 7 with Sam Roberts Band, who will be playing at the Jackson-Triggs estate for the 21st time since the concert series began in 2001.
“Performing at the Jackson-Triggs Amphitheatre is one of our band’s longest-running summer traditions,” Sam Roberts said in a statement. “We keep coming back for that close connection we feel with the crowd. We’re excited to kick-off the series this year with two performances and keep the tradition going.”
Other Canadian musical acts that will take part are The Rural Alberta Advantage, The Sheepdogs, Brett Kissel, The Reklaws, The Strumbellas, Jim Cuddy Band, David Wilcox and Matt Dusk. At the winery, you can also do tours, tastings and eat from a full menu.
Tickets are available for pre-sale today (April 2) for Great Estates Niagara Wine Club members, and go on sale to the general public on April 4. Concerts will run until September 15 when Dwayne Gretzky wraps things up.
