Popular Oakville summer art event returns to Bronte Waterfront Heritage Park

A leisurely stroll through a waterfront park while taking in and learning about some of the finest local art has been a popular summer tradition in Oakville for almost 60 years now.
The Oakville Art Society’s Art in the Park returns to Bronte Waterfront Heritage Park during the Civic Holiday weekend on Monday, August 1.
The fun family-friendly event has “blossomed” into Oakville’s premier art event and features more than 175 artists and artisans from across Canada.
Created in 1965 by the Art Society, the annual event helps promote local artists and artisans and draws thousands of people to the Bronte Waterfront.
Every medium is represented, from traditional oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings to glass, ceramics, photography, mixed media, sculptures and fine jewellery.
Visitors also get to meet the artists and learn more about the works they have created and are displaying at the event.
The Oakville Art Society event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the park, which is located at Bronte Rd. and Ontario St.
Admission is just $5 for adults, which goes towards supporting programs at the charitable organization helps it provide a venue for furthering interest and knowledge of the world of art.
Children under 12 get in free.
