A popular pastry shop that already has two locations in Toronto is now opening another in the space where a beloved bagel shop just closed.
Little Pebbles has taken over the space where Nu Bugel used to be, making this location their second in Kensington Market–but it comes with a major twist.

Nu Bugel’s wood-powered bagel oven hasn’t gone anywhere. Little Pebbles has now inherited it along with the spot, and is now applying their baking prowess to bagels.
Little Pebbles has previously been known more for their Japanese-inspired French pastries, with creations like stunning roll cakes, chiffon cakes and croissants. They’ve become a destination for viral creations like cube croissants and round croissants. Their other two locations can be found at 160 Baldwin St. and 540 College St.

Nu Bugel was popular for their wood fire Montreal-style bagels for a long time, but closed down quietly without any official announcement recently. Their last posts on Instagram are from July, and their website is now down.
“You can already taste the wood fire bagels, croissants and desserts,” reads a post from Little Pebbles on social media teasing the opening of their new location. They’ve also been posting some of their bagel sandwiches, with options like egg, tomato and cheese and salmon with jalapeno cream cheese.
Little Pebbles is now soft open at 240 Augusta Ave.
