Popular southern Ontario restaurant opening new location in Burlington in 2025

With 2025 just around the corner, diners might be wondering what new restaurants will set up shop in their neighbourhoods in the new year, and it looks like a Halton city is about to welcome a popular southern Ontario hotspot. 

Today, restaurant and hotel company Pearle Hospitality announced that Bardō (formerly Bread Bar) will return to Burlington next spring. The newest outpost will be located inside the Pearle Hotel and Spa at 421 Brant St., right on the corner of Brant Street and James Street.

The chain, which operates locations in Hamilton and Guelph, has quickly become known for its pizzas, shareable apps, salads and weekend brunch. Much like existing restos, the newest Bardō will offer popular staples such as the Umami burger, quinoa and squash salad and Bee Sting pizza. 

In a news release, Pearle said the new restaurant will feature a spacious dining room that can seat over 100 guests, as well as a large patio. Pearle Hospitality also says it partnered with the II X III Design Agency to design a “modern yet inviting space” that will bring more people to the city’s waterfront downtown core. 

The Burlington location will also feature the Bardō to Go counter, which will offer freshly baked bread and pastries, artisanal soups, sandwiches and hot and cold beverages.

As we open our doors, we invite everyone to experience why good ingredients matter and what has made Bardō a favourite in Guelph and Hamilton—great food, friendly faces, and a genuine sense of care for every guest,” said Aaron Ciancone, CEO of Pearle Hospitality, in a statement.
