Spot on list of world’s 100 best bars just given to cocktail bar in Toronto

A bar in Toronto was just named one of the world’s 100 best.

Bar Pompette was recently revealed to be on the extended list of rankings of the world’s 100 best bars, put out by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, which ranks restaurants and bars.

Bar Pompette is part of a mini empire of food businesses clustered around the same area in Little Italy in Toronto. Vinotecca Pompette is a restaurant serving French-Italian fare, and the same team also operates a bakery nearby under the same name.

The cocktail bar has stunning creations on the menu like a Nitro Colada that’s their take on a pina colada, and a cocktail that has similar flavour notes as the cinnamon roll Pompette sells at their bakery.

It’s the only Canadian bar on the extended list of the World’s 100 Best Bars, landing at number 70. They’re a regular on such ranked lists, placing on Canada’s 100 Best and Top 500 Bars lists.

The Bar in Front of the Bar in Athens tops the extended list of 51 to 100 bars that’s just been put out.

Bar Pompette joins bars from Los Angeles, Madrid, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, London, Rome, Paris and Miami on the extended list. At number 70, it ranks above bars in places like New York City, Melbourne, Milan, San Francisco and Copenhagen.

The 16th edition of The World’s 50 Best Bars list will be announced at a ceremony in Madrid on Oct. 22.
