The people behind a Thai food spot in Toronto praised by the Michelin Guide have just opened a brand new restaurant.
Larb Muang was just recently opened by the same people behind Koh Lipe, a Thai restaurant that’s included in Toronto’s Michelin Guide.
Koh Lipe is especially known for serving dishes that include rarer Thai ingredients like stink bean. The same team also recently opened a Thai ice cream joint called Kati.

“The food has the power to evoke emotions and memories, bringing the past vividly into the present through taste, smell, and texture. Chef Porpy, a Canadian-Thai chef from Doi Saket in Northern Thailand, is passionate about sharing authentic Northern Thai cuisine,” reads Larb Muang’s website.
“Inspired by ‘Larb Muang,’ a spicy, herb-infused minced beef dish, Chef Porpy’s latest restaurant, Larb Muang, celebrates the cherished flavours and hidden gems of Northern Thailand.”
Larb Muang is located not far away from their sister spot Koh Lipe on Baldwin.

The restaurant serves many small plates and a few big plates, with a variety of steamed, grilled and fried dishes. Small plates include dishes like sausages, chicken wings, ribs, soups and curries, as well as less commonly found dishes like grilled egg in banana leaves, fried banana blossom and the nominal larb muang dib, a beef tartare dish with pork liver and pork intestine.
Big plates include a huge platter of starters and classic khao soi (a curry noodle dish) as well as nam ngiaw, another curry noodle soup dish that’s a specialty in Northern Thailand.
Larb Muang is now open at 45 Baldwin St.
