The group behind some of Toronto’s top Thai restaurants is at it again with a new karaoke bar.

Tha Phae is a new venture from the team that brought us Pai, Sukhothai and Kiin, among others, headed up by chef Nuit Regular.

The Instagram bio for Tha Phae says the new concept will be a Thai bar with karaoke rooms, and that the name is inspired by the Tha Phae Gate in Thailand. The gate is kind of like Chiang Mai’s city square where lots of cultural activities take place.

Not much is known about the project other than that at this time, but they are hiring for a variety of positions.

Tha Phae will be located at 221 Richmond St. W., where the same group previously operated Selva. The now-closed restaurant served seafood towers and cocktails amongst jungle-inspired blacklight decor.

Selva closed in early November 2024, and now the space is being transformed into this new Tha Phae concept.

Tha Phae should be opening around April.
