People love dogs in Toronto, but now pups in the city are getting a social club all their own.

Hound House calls itself Toronto’s first canine social collective, designed for both dogs and their humans to socialize. The space should encompass an indoor dog park, co-working space, cafe and bar, social club, doggy daycare services and a shop.

Hound House will even have its own concierge where dog owners will check in at the beginning of every visit, and can check leashes and harnesses.

The off-leash indoor dog park will have anti-slip flooring and a self-grooming station, and will be attended by trained “cha-paw-rones.”

There will even be dedicated potty and sanitization stations, along with complimentary sanitizer, hand balm, all-natural pet wipes and eco-friendly poop bags. The self-grooming station will be equipped with complimentary supplies like brushes, towels and all-natural dog shampoo, conditioner and perfume.

The shop should sell items like food, treats, accessories, supplements and of course, toys, all carefully selected. The cafe plans on serving beverages and treats for both dogs and humans, including locally sourced tea, coffee and food, seasonal drinks and even beer and wine.

The park will also function as a coworking space with high-speed WiFi so you can keep an eye on your dog and get them some exercise and social time while you still get work done, and there will even be a soundproof phone booth for calls.

As for the social collective element, Hound House will also be putting together a full social calendar of events for dogs and their owners like fitness classes and training sessions.

There will be options for daily drop-in passes, as well as monthly memberships that get you access to doggy daycare, members-only events and up to two guests per visit.

Doggy daycare is available for a six-hour half day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., or for a 12-hour full day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Just bring any meals your dog needs during those hours and any necessary instructions, and the cha-paw-rones will take care of all their other basic needs and give them love and attention.

Hound House at 501 Queen St. W. should be opening in fall 2024.
