The next season of Top Chef will take place in Toronto

Top Chef has announced they’re heading to Canada for their next season.

While we do have our own version of the show up north with Top Chef Canada, the American version of the show will be traveling here for season 22 instead of filming in a city in the States like they normally do.

The show posted the news about the next season taking place in Canada to their official social media channel, with a video showing a “video call” between judges Gail Simmons, Kristen Kish and Tom Colicchio. Video of Gail Simmons, who is Canadian, shows the CN Tower in the background.

“I’m here checking out the new season location,” she says. “That’s right, season 22, destination Canada.”

The post has over 18,000 likes and hundreds of comments, including many from local chefs.

It’s not the first time Top Chef has crossed the border, with the final four from a previous season once heading to Whistler. Season 20 was shot in London, England. The most recent season, 21, took place in Wisconsin.

Bravo has not yet announced a premiere date or contestants for season 22 of Top Chef.
