Toronto’s legendary Black Bull pub may be gone, but a new bar has swiftly swooped in to take its place this week.

Score on Queen opened in the epic space on Sept. 30. The bar is known for their wacky Caesars piled high with items like onion rings, fried pickles, grilled cheese sandwiches, hot dogs and burgers. They also serve brunch and other typical bar fare, and always have lots of TVs for watching sports.

The brand originated in Vancouver, later opening a second location in Toronto on King East.

The Score team has been hard at work getting the old space ready for their takeover, and they’ve now made it over with their signature fun decor touches like a metal wall with letter magnets. Fortunately, they’ve kept the famous patio that Black Bull was known for.

“This day has been a long time coming,” Score posted to their story on Monday afternoon. “We appreciate your patience so much. We’re working on the finishing touches so that everything is perfect when we welcome you for the first time.”

Score also posted a land acknowledgement to their story on their opening day coinciding with the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Score on Queen is now open at 298 Queen St. W.
