January 31

Burlington: 

Brent Butt comedy show

Brent Butt, one of Canada’s top comedians, brings his stand-up to Burlington Performing Arts Centre. With a career spanning five decades, Brent has starred in Corner Gas, Hiccups, and the feature film No Clue, and recently became a bestselling author with his novel Huge.

Milton: 

Jumping and Jamming Storytime

A fun-filled interactive storytime for children ages 1-5, featuring stories, songs, dancing and movement with shakers, scarves and music.

Oakville: 

Tales & Tunes

Join Oakville Parent-Child Centre for a fun-filled session of songs, stories, and games designed for babies and their caregivers. This interactive program encourages early literacy and provides a great opportunity for bonding.

A Family Music Matinee with Darrelle London

Fibre Arts Exhibit: Of Wonders, Wild and New (Feb. 1 to March 30)

As part of the Alice in Bloomland floral showcase, this exhibit by Cobalt Connects adds another layer of magic with works from nine contemporary fibre artists exploring themes from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Legends of Motown

Pianist Victoria Wong brings her vibrant touch to Chopin’s first concerto, while Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet captures the timeless tale of love and tragedy.

Refuge Canada

Highlighting major waves of arrival from the Second World War to the present, the exhibit balances stories of hope and success with accounts of fear, loss, and Canada’s mixed history of welcoming refugees.

Dry Thunder (Jan. 11 to April 27)

Misbah Ahmed’s first institutional solo exhibition, Dry Thunder, explores folklore, eco-poetics and the transformation of urban and wildlife environments through ceramic sculptures and paintings. Inspired by the rainless thunderstorms of South Asia, Ahmed melds traditional vessel forms with mythological and natural imagery, incorporating regional stories from Sindhi, Punjabi, and Hunza traditions.

Stitches – The Art of Sybil Rampen

Explore over 80 pieces of fibre art by Sybil Rampen, created between 1973 and 2024. This exhibition features wall hangings, sculptures and vestments made with techniques like hand embroidery, machine stitching and collage, often incorporating natural materials.
