Valentine’s Day and the Family Day long weekend are bringing the best of both worlds to Hamilton with romance, fun and exploration. Whether it’s grabbing food and drinks while enjoying live jazz, getting lost in an out-of-this-world maze, catching a dazzling fashion show or touring captivating exhibits at various museums, there’s lots to do and see!

Hamilton Winterfest POP: NOVA
An out-of-this-world experience awaits at Jackson Square, where a mysterious spacecraft has crash-landed. Explore a 12,000-square-foot maze filled with tunnels, portals, and strange encounters from other times and places. Discover relics, play video games and unlock the mysteries of NOVA through interactive puzzles.

Art Crawl
Explore Art Crawl, a lively street festival and block party filled with art, music and food. Studios, galleries, shops and restaurants open their doors late to welcome visitors for a night of creativity and community.

Hamilton Fashion Week – Gala Fashion Show
Celebrate the 11th annual Hamilton Fashion Week, one of Canada’s top fashion events, showcasing designers from Hamilton and across the country. Hosted at the penthouse level of Stelco Tower, the evening includes a fashion marketplace and runway shows from emerging and established designers.

Alice in Bloomland
Tumble down the rabbit hole and experience the magical Alice in Bloomland at the Royal Botanical Gardens. Inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, wander through breathtaking floral displays that feel like stepping into a dreamland. The showcase also features Of Wonders, Wild and New, a textile-based art exhibit produced by Cobalt Connects.

Cost: Off-peak admission is $19.50 for adults, $16.50 for seniors (65+), $16.50 for students (13-17 or with valid student ID), and $11.50 for children (3-12). Peak-hour pricing is $24.50 for adults, $21.50 for seniors and students, and $16.50 for children. Infants and toddlers (0-2) can enter for free with registration, while RBG members receive free admission during off-peak times and pay $5 during peak hours.
WinterTide Jazz Lounge at Royal Botanical Gardens
Experience the magic of winter as the Rock Garden transforms into an indoor and outdoor jazz lounge. Stroll beneath glowing lights, gather around fire pits, and enjoy live music, signature cocktails, and cuisine. The event features performances from emerging and award-winning artists in partnership with the Emerging Artists Association.

Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum (Feb. 15 to Feb. 17)
Blast off into a space-themed adventure with interactive exhibits and special appearances by astronauts. Explore the Earth in Focus exhibit, enjoy a planetarium show, and meet Canadian astronaut Dr. Dave Williams (Saturday only). A live virtual presentation and Q&A with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Col. Jeremy Hansen will follow.

Visit Whitehern House & Garden
Step back in time and experience the lives of the McQuesten family through guided tours of this preserved 1939-era home. Restored to when the Honourable Thomas B. McQuesten was at the height of his influence, the house offers insights into family life, culture, politics and domestic technology from 1852 to 1968.
