Three hugely popular stores are now shutting down in Canada and the United States, and closing sales are starting to roll out.
According to The Canadian Press, Brooks Brothers, Ted Baker, and Lucky Brand will soon be gone across the country. The three brands have 25 stores in Canada and 34 in the United States. Last month, Ted Baker Canada filed for court protection from creditors.
Multiple media reports indicate that markdowns of up to 30 per cent have already begun at some Ted Baker, Brooks Brothers and Lucky Brand stores in Canada, and discounts will likely continue to increase. Ted Baker announced that all sales were final and that online shopping was no longer available.
Ted Baker has had a presence in Canada since 2012, with their first store at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre, and Brooks Brothers first opened in Canada in 2009.
According to Retail Insider, liquidation sales will continue until the end of July or until merchandise runs out.
