5. Bo’s Sports Bar
This pub in Waterdown is a favourite in the neighbourhood and features a pretty impressive bar and tap menu. They offer pretty standard fare that is unpretentious and freshly made and the service is incredibly friendly and personable. The decor is decidedly sports fan; every inch of wall in the bar is draped with sports memorabilia. There are TVs on every wall so you’d be hard-pressed to find a bad seat. On Leaf’s game nights, Bo’s offers wing deals.

The Collins is a downtown Dundas gem. It’s a fantastic location to catch a game any time of year: they have a beautifully shady patio and TVs everywhere inside. The food is absolutely top-notch. They offer a number of traditional pub dishes which are always delicious and will hit the spot (their wings are fabulous) but their jambalaya is really such a treat. Their taps always feature local breweries prominently and they always have some innovative menu features on the go as well. When all is said and done, The Collins is a pretty legendary bar in Hamilton and definitely worth the visit if you haven’t already done so.
3. Shoeless Joe’s
This is a classic watch-the-game-with-your-friends venue. TVs galore and wide-open spaces. Inthehammer actually caught the Hamilton Forge FC winning the inaugural Canadian Premier League championship last month and the place was packed but not uncomfortably so. Shoeless Joe’s has a huge menu that will cater to just about any palette, including their Korean Duck Wings, which seem to be a favourite among patrons.
2. Odds Bar
This cosy little bar on James South is perfect for getting your sports on and digging into some pretty incredible nibbles. They have an entire nacho menu inspired by world-class athletes and a variety of other made-for-sports edibles. Throw in the fact that if you’re lucky enough, you might glimpse a member of The Arkells, this place is really where it’s at as far as sports bars go. Also, they have a lot of TVs, one of which is like an entire wall, so pretty much anywhere you sit, you’ll catch all the action.

This East End institution is a no brainer. It’s a huge space with tons of TVs, some of the best wings in the city served by a friendly and incredibly helpful staff. They have a lenghty beer selection and a huge menu that will cater to all diets and cravings. If they don’t have what you’re looking for? They’re known to be accommodating. The thing with EndZone, though, is that you need to get there pretty early because for big events like the Grey Cup, UFC fights or pretty much any kind of playoff run, they are packed. If it’s sports you love and you want to indulge in good food in the company of good people, this is the place in Hamilton you need to be.
