A massive open-air stadium, unlike anything seen before, will be opening in Toronto next year.

Entertainment company Live Nation Canada just announced the upcoming Rogers Stadium —a purpose-built seasonal venue for some of the world’s largest musical acts.

Described as “Canada’s newest landmark location,” the venue has been designed as a premiere space for residents and visitors looking to take in a large-scale concert experience.

Live Nation said the stadium will take shape on the former Downsview Airport Lands in the north part of Toronto and is set to host an overall capacity of 50,000 people, which will make it the largest live music venue in the entirety of the Greater Toronto Area.

“Rogers Stadium will attract the best artists from around the world and provide concertgoers with a premium entertainment experience in a unique festival atmosphere,” said Tony Staffieri, president and CEO of Rogers, in a statement.

Live Nation, citing a “new era of live music,” said that as the project progresses, the public will receive further updates.

Rogers Stadium is currently slated to open in June 2025.
