Toronto has been anticipating the opening of its fanciest new bowling alley, and now it’s finally here.

The Ballroom Bowl in Yorkville is a second location for the old Ballroom on John Street that really takes their party bowling concept up a notch. Taking up residence in the space that used to be home to a McEwan grocery store at 1 Bloor Street East, the venue offers not only bowling but also DJs, food and drinks.

Designed by Hamilton-based firm mcCallumSather, the experience starts by descending escalators into the subterranean space. The venue contains a lounge area with an open kitchen, a dining area and a 3-sided water vapour fireplace. There’s also a VIP area with private bowling lanes, leather couches, and TVs. From the entrance to the interior, the Yorkville location is distinguished by lots of unique wood features.

As for food and drink, there are options like a spicy crab dip, burgers, a beet Reuben and short rib mac n’ cheese, plus cocktails like the Mexpresso Martini with reposado tequila and avocado orgeat, or the Big-Lebowski-inspired The Dude made with Vodkow coffee cream.

You can now walk in or make reservations for groups of up to eight for bowling, and rates start at $27.50 per person per hour from Sunday to Thursday.
