A restobar in Toronto will soon be permanently closing down and transforming into something totally different.
The Commoner Bar Room is a restaurant and bar on College serving up comfort food, cocktails, beer and wine. They specialize in bistro classics like French onion soup, truffle fries, burgers and steak frites.
Now, they’ve recently announced that they’re closing down.
“After 4 great years, our College St. location will have its last service,” the restaurant wrote on Instagram.
However, all is not lost: the owners are actually keeping the location and giving it a total transformation.
“We will be reimagining this location into an entirely new concept,” they wrote in the same Instagram post. They continued on to say that they’d be sharing more information about the new concept within the coming weeks. People commented on the post saying they’re sorry to see the Commoner Bar Room go, but they’re excited about what’s to come.
If you really don’t want to let go of the Commoner though, they still have an original location on Roncesvalles that even serves brunch and has a patio.
The last service for the Commoner Bar Room location on College will be April 27. The owners are planning to open their new concept around early May.
