Toronto: What’s Open and Closed New Year’s Day Jan, 1, 2025

The holiday season is officially coming to an end, with New Year’s Day marking the first day of the new year and the first holiday for a few weeks.
This year, New Year’s Day falls on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025.
Here’s a look at what’s open and closed in Toronto on the holiday:
Open:
Shopping
- Eaton Centre – 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Pacific Mall – 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- CF Markville – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Hillcrest Mall – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Toronto Premium Outlets – 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Square One Shopping Centre – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Bramalea City Centre – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Vaughan Mills – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- The Well (hours of individual retailers may vary)
Food and Grocery
- Rabba
- Summerhill Market – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Whole Foods (Yorkville and Square One locations only)
- Eataly (all locations)
- Select Wine Rack locations (call ahead to be sure)
