Michael Brennan placed second in the canvas category of the competition, while Mehak Sagar is one of the honourable mentions in the same category.
PAMA recently announced the winners of the Live Art Competition Brampton, which took place on August 24.
“I am always so impressed by the amazing artistic talents found in our community. It was really difficult to choose the winners but ultimately the originality, composition and design determined the pieces that stood out the most,” says Regan Hayward, board president at Beaux-Arts Brampton and one of the judges of the Live Art Competition Brampton.
PAMA hosted 22 Ontario artists at the 4th Annual Live Art Competition. Artists were given three hours to paint outdoors in downtown Brampton, where they could paint on their choice of canvas or watercolour paper.
Prizes were awarded in each category with first, second, third winners and 2 honourable mentions.
The winners of the Canvas Category include Peter Cheung from Burlington (1st place), Michael Brennan from Brampton (2nd place), Karlene Bland from Oakville (3rd place). PAMA also gave two honourable mentions to Annie Pelletier from North York and Mehak Sagar from Brampton.
The winners of the Watercolour Category include Eunice Sim from Mississauga (1st place), Adriane Gurtner from Markham (2nd place), Moumita Roychowdhury from Waterloo (3rd place). PAMA also two honourable mentions to Barbara Eguchi from Toronto and Mary Mitchell from Cambridge.
Residents can view the Live Art Competition top 10 artworks at Beaux-Arts Brampton’s Cove Gallery. They can also vote for the best artwork in the People’s Choice Award from August 28 to September 12. The closing reception will be held on Thursday, September 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Beaux-Arts Brampton.
