If you’ve made it your New Year’s resolution to get fit in 2025, a unique new studio in Toronto’s east end might pique your interest.

Recently, STRONG, a pilates-based fitness concept, announced that it just opened a brand new location in The Beach (perhaps better known as The Beaches).

The fitness studio has been steadily growing in Toronto, operating facilities in Liberty Village and Little Italy and planning to open new locations in the Yonge and Eglinton neighbourhood, Leslieville and Summer Hill. The website also indicates plans to open new locations in Burlington, as well as B.C. and Alberta.

According to the company’s website, STRONG combines rowing or riding with pilates-inspired movements using its Rowformer and Bikeformer equipment. The website says a typical class lasts about 45 to 50 minutes and incorporates cardio and pilates-based strength and resistance training.

Incorporating tech into the workout, the website says customers can download a STRONG app to book and purchase classes, set goals, track progress, share results and qualify to win cash prizes.

As far as classes go, fitness enthusiasts can sign up for strength-based sessions (STRONG Loaded), full-body workouts with low-impact movements (STRONG Body), high-intensity classes (STRONG Sweat) and Pilates-only classes.

The newest Queen Street East location features a mobility area, lockers and a changeroom with showers and Dyson hairdryers. The location is accessible by TTC or car, with street parking available for patrons who drive.

According to the website, customers can purchase a two-class pass for $50.

The studio officially opened earlier this month.
