A Vancouver-based lingerie brand, known for its large range of bra sizes, has opened a store in Toronto.
Understance opened at 2334 Bloor St. in Bloor West Village on Nov. 19, the store announced on Instagram.
It is the second location for the brand, which has its flagship store and head office in Vancouver.
The store is around 1,400 square feet and offers its full collection along with professional fittings from trained sales associates, according to a story in Retail Insider.
There are 149 bra sizes from 28 to 48 bands and A to N cup sizes.
“We don’t claim to have re-invented the bra,” Understance says on its website. “The bra industry doesn’t need a revolution but reform is overdue. With thoughtful design and updated materials, an expertly-made bra can be comfortable, flattering, and attractive.”
Understance is a North American subsidiary of Shenzhen Huijie Group Co., Ltd., a global lingerie company with over 26 years of expertise, according to the website.
The products are made in a factory with a focus on sustainable practices based in Ganzhou, China. It is primarily powered by solar energy with a two-tier water conservation system. Seamstresses and technicians are paid 20 per cent above the regional average, get paid time off, and work in a safety-first environment, Understance says on its website.
