Wendy’s is celebrating 25 years of Spongebob Squarepants by putting an actual Krabby Patty on their menu.
In case you’ve been living under a rock (like Patrick), Spongebob lives in a pineapple under the sea in a popular Nickelodeon cartoon where he’s employed at a burger joint making Krabby Patties.
Now, you can experience a Krabby Patty in real life by heading to Wendy’s for their new promotional Spongebob items.
The special Spongebob items are a Krabby Patty Kollab Burger and Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty, and they’ll be available in Canada, the United States and Guam next week.
The Krabby Patty Kollab burger is pretty similar to a typical Wendy’s burger with a quarter pound beef patty, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and “a top-secret Krabby Kollab sauce.” The Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty is a vanilla Frosty with a pineapple mango flavoured puree swirl.
“It makes sense that two of the most iconic squares in pop culture are teaming up to bring a taste of this unique, limited-time experience to life for fans of all ages,” said Lindsay Radkoski, U.S. Chief Marketing Officer for The Wendy’s Company in a press release.
“‘The Krabby Patty Kollab’ marks another innovative way to continue the landmark 25th anniversary celebration of ‘SpongeBob SquarePants,'” said Dario Spina, CMO, Paramount Brand Studio in a press release. “Wendy’s pulse on pop culture and connection to fans makes this collaboration a perfect match for Paramount.”
The Krabby Patty Kollab Burger and Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty will be available beginning Oct. 8.
